Go All Inclusive in Mexico ~ You won’t regret it.
Of course it will save you money…and this is important, but it is not the only reason to go all inclusive in Mexico.
We just took the most relaxing vacation that we have ever had in our lives! EVER!
I have been going to Mexico since I was a child and this time was by far the most carefree and wonderful experience that I have ever had.
The reason? An All Inclusive Resort.
I have never gone on an all-inclusive vacation and to be honest with you…I was a bit skeptical.
The deal seemed “too” good to be true. And, some of the reviews for the resort we chose were not great. But, we took a chance and IT WAS SHOUT FROM THE ROOFTOPS, TELL STRANGERS ON THE STREET FABULOUS!
Here’s why you should choose to go all inclusive in Mexico…
1. Mexican All-Inclusive Resorts are TOTALLY SAFE Environments
I know that you have been hearing hype for years about how dangerous Mexico is. It is not! Well, let me re-phrase that. The resorts and MOST tourist destinations are completely safe if you use some common sense. Check out the updated risks in case you are still wary….
When I was a teenager living in Southern California my friends and I used to drive to Mexico and rent a dive or camp on the beaches of Rosarito, San Felipe and Ensenada. I wouldn’t do that now.
But, I have no problem traveling with my family to places like Playa Del Carmen, Cancun or Puerto Vallarta (there are a ton of cool destinations, these are just a few).
These are gated communities with 24 hour staff and the latest security measures. It doesn’t feel intrusive. Or like a “police state”. It’s just comfortable, well-lit and friendly.
The resort areas have safety precautions in place 24/7 and every single resort that we have visited have in room safes for your wallet and other valuables.
Which brings me to my second point…
2. Everything is Included!
I know this seems a little redundant…umm, it’s called an all inclusive. But hear me out.
This means that you don’t have to stress about making reservations for dinner or even bringing your wallet with you. All you need to worry about is having a little cash for tips (please make sure to tip your waiters).
You don’t have to worry about where to eat our last resort had 4 eateries with the option to upgrade to include the restaurants plus transportation to their sister resort. We didn’t do the upgrade last time and still found plenty of variety. They also included an afternoon Ice Cream Stand and Mexican Coffee bar.
It’s not all just buffet food either. Look at this dessert….made just for me. And, the ice cream was hand-churned…OMG.
Two words ~ ALL INCLUSIVE.
3. Family Fun Options
Our resort had morning yoga, kids activities and games and nightly entertainment. The nightly shows were great and had acts like fire dancers, acrobats, comedy and belly dancing. They were all family friendly events.
Annnnd, all of the non-motorized water sports were included as well. Boogie boards, snorkel equipment, sail boats, paddle boards and kayaks were all available to use whenever we wanted. It was amazing!
The fire dancers were my favorite!
4. Motorized Water Sports Options will be at your Fingertips
Jet skis, snorkeling tours, champagne cruises and parasailing offerings are all available and take off right from the beaches of the resorts on the Yucatan Peninsula.
Tours go out several times a day and they all take major credit cards. While motorized sports are not usually included, the convenience and options are amazing.
5. Booking your Flight and All-Inclusive Hotel together will save you Money
We chose a shoulder season to go to Mexico…Mid-May and paid a little less than $100.00 per day per person for round trip tickets from Denver to Play Del Carmen, airport transportation, a double room and all of the food and beverages we wanted (including booze and bottled water).
I am a planner and was skeptical of the all inclusive…but we spent much less than we would have if we had paid separately.
Caution: We did overeat…and I think this happen a lot. There is no need to “try to get your moneys worth” out of the buffet. You’ll get your moneys worth.
6. Incredible Beaches
Booking an all-inclusive resort will not get you close to the beach…It will get you ON the beach. Most all-inclusive resorts sit right on the beach and include loungers and umbrellas.
This means that in most cases your room will be steps from the pool and the pool will be steps from the sand.
They’ll even keep bringing drinks and snacks to your chairs on the sand. Mexican hospitality is among the finest and friendliest in the world.
7. You’ll have Easy Access to the Best Cultural Experiences
You can stay at the resort the entire time and not run out of fun and relaxing options.
But if you decide that you want to take a tour snorkeling with sea turtles, visiting ancient Mayan Ruins or visiting a theme park you can be picked up right outside of your lobby.
Sure you could rent a car and drive, but for families it’s much more relaxing to take a tour on a luxurious tour bus with locals to guide you. And, most tours are super affordable.
This was our tour to Chichen Itza from Playa del Carmen. They picked us up in a tour bus, made sure we were comfy and we gtt a lot more out of the tour than if we had just gone by ourselves.
